What to Expect
Much like neighboring La Bayou, Mermaids is a small casino that offers slot players a quick buzz. Waitresses bring players drinks quickly and frequently. This joint features a single bar with video poker machines. In addition to a full selection of hard liquor and beer, Mermaids offers several frozen daiquiri flavors. Big-ass souvenir glasses are available, and refills are half price.
After pounding a few drinks, head to the Mermaids snack bar for some of the best/worst food choices on Fremont Street, including chocolate-covered bananas, deep fried Twinkies and deep fried Oreos. At 99 cents each, try all three. What could possibly go wrong?

Was there late saturday night. Impression: A lot of people must want to throw up while on vacation. I don’t know what was in the complimentary shot but my truck could probably run for a week on it. People come here to get liquored up on cheap cheap “liquor” the “tequila” is the fortified wine stuff. Arguably fun to check out, but don’t plan a night here.
We always have the best time at mermaids! We go to Vegas 2 or 3 times a year, and the cocktail waitresses remember us, we walk in the door, greeted right away go find a machine and the cocktail waitress comes finds us with our drinks. You don’t lose ur money there quick, and the drinks keep coming. Even if ur at the machine and ur hungry the waitress has gone and got us food from the awesome greasy snack bar. Great service we always make it a must to stop there every trip!
Mermaids was terrible. The bartender was unprofessional and highly rude. The treatment we received was uncalled for. We will never go back.
