What to Expect
El Cortez features three casino bars:

  1. Lobby Bar: This single-sided wall-set bar is located just steps away from the registration desk, so you can conveniently grab a cocktail as soon as you arrive. This bar includes video poker machines, so you can drink free if you’re gambling.
  2. Parlour Bar & Lounge: The newest El Cortez bar, the Parlour Bar is located next to The Flame steakhouse. It features comfy lounge seating, live piano music and a small, corner bar with video poker. From 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Parlour Bar offers an exclusive menu from The Flame steakhouse kitchen, including BBQ chicken sliders, grilled shrimp, artichoke spinach dip, steak fries, lollipop wings, fish tacos, pulled pork sliders and parlour melt.
  3. Casino Bar: Located near Cafe Cortez and the keno lounge, the El Cortez Casino Bar is a large rectangular bar with plenty of seating for video poker players and boozers alike.

My favorite place to hang out downtown. They take excellent care of you here. It should be noted that they now only comp drinks if you’re playing 50 cents credit or more, but that’s no issue.

Great place to play VP and Caveman Keno at Parlour. If Scott’s working bar (10 am – 6 pm, off Wed-Thurs), he’ll make you a real drink. Even if it’s comped!

  2. Chilcoot says:

The El Cortez has updated its site, adding Also 2-1 top shelf cocktails to the promo Su-Th 5P-7P.

  3. Corie says:

Anyone know if you get free drinks when you play video poker in the Parlour Bar?

  4. Andy says:

It should be noted that the 2-for-1 martini special does not include, you know, an actual martini.

  5. Tim says:

Friendly bartenders at all bars. Check out the classic cocktail menu and the 2/1 martini happy hour.

The El Cortez and my family has a connection that goes back to the mid 40′s. My great aunt was a top end showgirl that was a part of the floor show glory days who had the mind of a business woman who knew Ben Siegel during those days in Vegas. The fact remains the El Cortez is the best place to go when one is in need of top-end excellent liquor, great food for a luncheon. The key is if cant get top end liquor dont bother to drink unless you are partying at the El Cortez Casino…It remains my official second home.
