Downtown’s newest casino and hotel, Downtown Grand, is officially opening on Nov. 12, 2013, with a soft opening on Oct. 27. FremontStreetBars.com got a preview of the property including the most important part—the bars. We liked what we saw and are more excited than ever to try each one. The lineup will include:

Artbar: Downtown Grand’s hotel lobby bar will focus on hand-crafted cocktails and tapas, including many favorite menu items current served at Mob Bar, which will no longer offer food in its new location.

Mob Bar: One of our favorite downtown bars, Mob Bar is moving from its current location next to Triple George to its new home in the Downtown Grand building, directly across from the Mob Museum late next week. The new home is larger and will feature live music, including dueling pianos one night each week and a singer/songwriter night.

Furnace: The main casino bar, Furnace sits in the center of the action. It is a large, square bar with plenty of video poker.

The Bar at Commissary: Located across in Downtown Grand’s modern take on the traditional food-court, this bar will focus on beer, featuring 31 taps and a large selection of bottles.

The Ninth Island: In addition to serving Hawaiian Shave Ice, this small bar on the edge of the casino floor will also offer daiquiris. Mmm… brain freeze.

Picnic: Opening next spring, Picnic will be Downtown Grand’s rooftop pool area and live event venue. The space will host concerts with a capacity of up to 1,500. Of course, every decent pool has a bar, and Picnic is no exception.

I’ve been waiting in anticipation for the “Grand” to become the greatest hotel & property that downtown has ever seen. with so many georgeous venues to see & play in/at, it would be hard for people that live here, or are just visiting to not stop in & take a look at how spectacular everything is going to be. I’m hoping as an employee I get to be a part of such a wonderous adventure, I’m waiting for a call from any restaurant manager to give me the opportunty to interview me, & let me prove to them that I’m the shining star they are looking for to be a part of their new venture downtown. Sincerly, Mrs. Lisa D Long
