Never get attached to anything in Las Vegas. Your favorite slot machine will eventually be removed from the casino floor. Your favorite hotel will eventually change ownership and be shut down. Your favorite cocktail waitress will eventually move to Los Angeles because her boyfriend was cast in a sitcom.
Even though we learned long ago never to be surprised by change in this town, it’s hard not to be bummed when two of our favorite happy hours go the way of the eight-track tape.
With heavy hearts, we’re sorry to report that El Cortez has killed off its longtime 2/1 Martini Madness happy hour and its more recent 2/1 Top Shelf happy hour. They were a lot of fun while they lasted. El Cortez has not yet introduced any new happy hour specials but confirmed to us that something new is in the works.
