The Downtown Project has announced plans to turn two lots on Fremont and 7th into a flexible park housing bars, restaurants and shops in converted shipping containers. Modeled after similar concepts in Brooklyn, San Francisco and London, the Fremont and 7th Street Container Park would allow for businesses to quickly open without having to build or renovate permanent space.

If approved by the city, the park could open as early as this fall.
