L.A. nightclub developer Carlos “Big Daddy” Adley has been attached to a few Las Vegas projects in recent years, most recently an attempt to turn the empty building at 601 Fremont Street into a multi-use entertainment venue. Announced last June, the Backstage Billiards/Fremont Country Club project hasn’t shown any signs of life, however.

It seems Adley’s plans for a Las Vegas restaurant, bar and nightclub may be happening in a different way. Velvet Margarita Cantina, Adley’s Hollywood club for the past six years may be close to expanding with a Las Vegas location on Fremont Street. Our friends at 360 Vegas are reporting the Las Vegas outpost of Velvet Margarita is under construction in the space previously occupied by Binion’s Original Coffee Shop, which closed two years ago.

Related Update: Work is underway for a new whiskey bar at Binion’s called Whiskey Licker Bar. Thanks to Steven for the tip.

They’re also got a new bar going in right on Fremont Street by the First Street stage called Whiskey Licker. They’ve got pictures on their Facebook page of the construction wall.
